This notice describes how ACL Telecom LLC dba Heritage Telecom (“Heritage Telecom,” “Heritage,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information through the Heritage Telecom public website and Heritage’s own business communications. Customer services may be governed by an order form, the Standard Terms and Conditions, service-specific terms, and other notices.
Information we collect
We may collect information that you choose to provide when you email, call, text, submit a support request or website inquiry, or otherwise communicate with Heritage. This may include your name, business contact information, company, the content of your request, and related correspondence.
For text conversations, we may collect the telephone number, message content, date and time, delivery information, and records of consent and opt-out requests.
Our web server may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as an IP address, requested page, request time, referring page, browser or device information, and error or security events.
The website’s system planner stores planner answers in your browser’s local storage so that your work can remain available on that device. Planner answers are not submitted to Heritage unless you separately choose to send or discuss them. You can remove those answers by using the planner’s reset control or clearing your browser storage.
Analytics and cookies
Heritage does not currently use a third-party website analytics service or advertising tracker. The public website does not currently set analytics or advertising cookies. We will update this notice before adding analytics or materially changing these practices.
How we use information
We use information to:
- respond to sales, service, support, privacy, and other requests;
- provide and maintain requested communications and customer services;
- maintain records of text-messaging consent and opt-out choices;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and our systems;
- comply with applicable law and enforce applicable agreements; and
- protect Heritage, our customers, and others from misuse, fraud, or security threats.
How we disclose information
We may disclose information to service providers that help us host the website, deliver email or text messages, operate support systems, provide customer services, secure our systems, or perform other work on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect rights, safety, or security; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of business assets.
Heritage does not sell personal information.
Mobile information, including telephone numbers, text-messaging originator opt-in data, and consent, is not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. This restriction does not prevent Heritage from using service providers to deliver messages or support the conversational service on Heritage’s behalf.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice, including providing services, maintaining consent and opt-out records, meeting legal and accounting obligations, resolving disputes, and protecting our systems. Retention depends on the type of information and the reason we collected it.
Information stored by the system planner remains in your browser until you reset the planner, clear browser storage, or the browser removes it.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical measures intended to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not send passwords, credentials, sensitive customer information, medical information, or urgent support requests through a public sales inquiry.
Your choices and requests
You may ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information by emailing hello@heritagetel.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when required or permitted by law.
To stop conversational text messages, reply STOP to the number sending the message. For help, reply HELP, call 616-465-5001, or email hello@heritagetel.com.
Children
The Heritage website and services are business-focused and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the public website.
Processing location
Heritage is based in the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other places where our service providers operate.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our website, services, or legal obligations change. The effective date on this page identifies the current version.
